A legacy of time: Seven Ravens Policies
Updated: May, 2025
This document outlines how the game A legacy of time: Seven Ravens handles and processes your Personal Data.
Summary
"A legacy of time: Seven Ravens" is a game entirely centered on ancient locations. While these environments may resemble real cultures and locations, they are crafted to offer enjoyment and recreate, in a stylized manner, the essence of ancient cultures. Given the absence of clear information from thousands of years ago, we use research and imagination to create an immersive recreational experience. Nothing in the game is intended to diminish any race or culture. Our goal is to offer a positive, engaging VR experience celebrating ancient history.
Code of Conduct for Virtual Experiences
"A legacy of time: Seven Ravens" is designed for social exploration of ancient worlds. We expect you to follow Meta’s community guidelines: respect voice, safety, authenticity, dignity, and privacy. Behavior in public spaces like lobbies or multiplayer sessions must be appropriate. Developers and admins can take action if needed. Please remember: what is acceptable in private experiences may not be acceptable in public experiences.
Children's Personal Information
"A legacy of time: Seven Ravens" is not designed for children. We do not collect, store, or process children's personal information. Age verification is handled by Meta according to their policies. Reports related to children's data should be made via Meta channels or the in-game Report button.
Personal Data and Privacy
A legacy of time: Seven Ravens does not directly collect, store, or process any personal information outside of the services provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. All user data including user IDs, purchase history, and networking information is managed exclusively by Meta through their platforms.
Avatar personalization and management are handled by Ready Player Me and are subject to their own privacy policies and data processing terms.
If you wish to exercise your rights regarding your personal information, such as accessing, modifying, or deleting your data, please contact Meta Platforms, Inc. directly through their official support channels.
If you have any general questions related to the game's content, environments, or gameplay (not about personal data), you can contact us at atmosphere@alegacyoftime.com. However, we are not responsible for managing user accounts, avatars, or personal information.
Data Processing and Meta Platform Features
"A legacy of time: Seven Ravens" ("the Game"), when running locally on your headset, utilizes specific platform features offered by Meta Platforms, Inc. ("Meta") to enable core gameplay, social interactions, and personalization. When you utilize these features within the Game, your headset requests and uses data or services provided by Meta. Meta processes data associated with your Meta account to enable these features, as described in their Privacy Policy. The developers of "A legacy of time: Seven Ravens" do not operate dedicated servers to store this Meta-provided data, nor do we store this data on our own remote servers. The Game on your headset uses Meta-provided information locally to deliver the functionalities described below. Many of athese features utilize Meta's own UI and UX, with our Game initiating calls to these services.
The Meta Platform Features our Game uses locally on your headset, the data Meta provides for these, and how our Game uses this information:
User ID:
What data is provided by Meta for local use: Your Oculus User ID (a unique identifier assigned by Meta).
How our Game uses this Meta-provided data locally on your headset: The Game on your headset uses your Oculus User ID, provided by Meta, primarily to identify users for the purpose of establishing and managing locally hosted multiplayer sessions, for linking any in-app purchases (managed by Meta), and for participation in Oculus Challenges.
User Profile:
What data is provided by Meta for local use: Your Oculus username and profile photo associated with your Meta account.
How our Game uses this Meta-provided data locally on your headset: If required by a Meta UI element (e.g., in a friends list or invite pop-up initiated by the Game), your Oculus username and profile photo, provided by Meta, may be displayed within that Meta UI. The Game does not otherwise store or persistently use this information for its own features beyond local session display if applicable.
In-App Purchases (IAP) and/or Downloadable Content:
What service/data is provided by Meta for local use: Meta's store provides the IAP service. Meta processes your payment information, transaction details, purchase history, and links these to your Oculus User ID. Our Game receives confirmation of purchase status from Meta.
How our Game uses this Meta-provided service/data locally on your headset: The Game on your headset uses the purchase confirmation from Meta to enable access to the optional digital items or content you have purchased (e.g., Ready Player Me avatar customizations, cosmetic items like weapons or tools, or other virtual goods).
Deep Linking:
What service/data is provided by Meta for local use: Meta's platform provides information about the specific destination within our Game you intend to access (e.g., joining a friend's hosted game in a particular era).
How our Game uses this Meta-provided service/data locally on your headset: When initiated, the Game on your headset uses this information from Meta to navigate you directly to the specified content or multiplayer session, streamlining access for the local session.
Friends:
What service/data is provided by Meta for local use: Meta's platform provides access to its standard friends list UI/functionality. If you use this feature, Meta handles the display of your friends.
How our Game uses this Meta-provided service/data locally on your headset: The Game on your headset may initiate Meta's standard friends list UI to allow you to select friends, for example, to send invites for locally hosted sessions. The Game itself does not store your friends list; it relies on Meta's UI and uses the selected User ID(s) provided by Meta for invite purposes.
Blocked Users:
What data is provided by Meta for local use: Access to your Meta blocked users list, facilitated by Meta's platform.
How our Game uses this Meta-provided data locally on your headset: The Game on your headset utilizes Meta's system for blocked users. If you initiate viewing your blocked list or if the Game checks against this list (e.g., to prevent blocked users from joining your locally hosted session), it does so by calling Meta's service. The Game does not store this list itself but respects the settings managed through Meta's UI/UX.
Invites:
What service/data is provided by Meta for local use: Meta's platform facilitates sending and receiving invites, using Oculus User IDs and session information. This typically occurs through Meta's standard UI.
How our Game uses this Meta-provided service/data locally on your headset: The Game on your headset uses Meta's invite system (often via Meta's UI) to allow you to send invitations to friends or receive them. Upon acceptance, the Game uses the relevant User ID(s) provided by Meta to facilitate joining or hosting multiplayer sessions locally on a user's headset.
Parties:
What service/data is provided by Meta for local use: Meta's platform provides its standard Party system UI and functionality, including User IDs of party members.
How our Game uses this Meta-provided service/data locally on your headset: If you are part of a Meta Party, the Game on your headset may use Meta's Party system (often via Meta's UI) to help your group join the same locally hosted multiplayer session together, using User ID(s) provided by Meta to coordinate.
Challenges:
What data is provided by Meta for local use: Data related to your participation, progress, and completion of Oculus Challenges linked to the Game.
How our Game uses this Meta-provided data locally on your headset: The Game on your headset may display your challenge status or progress by retrieving this information from Meta's services. Meta manages the storage and tracking of your challenge data.
Avatar Data (Ready Player Me):
If you choose to use Ready Player Me for avatar personalization (potentially acquired via IAP or linked freely), your interaction with this service, including any data processing, is subject to Ready Player Me's own privacy policy and data processing terms.
Data Redirection Using Photon Realtime (Local Session Facilitation):
For certain real-time multiplayer functionalities, the Game on your headset uses Photon Realtime.
What data is processed by Photon (facilitating local sessions): During an active session hosted by a user's headset, data such as in-game actions, position, and interactions are transmitted via Photon's servers to enable synchronized experiences between your headset and other participants' headsets.
How our Game uses this (for local sessions): This processing by Photon is essential for the real-time communication and data synchronization required for interactive multiplayer sessions that are hosted on a user's headset and occur locally among participants. This data is transient for the specific session and is not collected or stored by us on any remote servers. Please refer to Photon's privacy policy for details on their data handling.
Data Deletion Requests:
To request the deletion of your personal data that is processed by Meta as a result of your use of these features in our Game (such as your Oculus User ID, IAP history, or data related to Meta's social and challenge features), please submit your request directly to Meta Platforms, Inc. through their official support channels or privacy settings. For data related to Ready Player Me, please refer to their specific data request procedures. For data processed by Photon, please refer to Photon's policies.
Payments, Advertising, and Related
All commercial activity happens inside the Oculus Store or App Labs through optional in-app purchases. We do not operate external payment systems or advertising within the game itself.
Future Updates of Policies
These policies are effective as of May 2025. Any future modifications will comply with updates required by Meta platforms and will be adjusted accordingly.
